San Pedro, Los Angeles is a major shipping and cargo port. There are 77 container cranes and 9 container terminals. There are over 2,000 vessels coming through the port per annum. I thought that these cranes looked very peaceful - the calm before the storm.

I absorbed the basics of life and painting from my father, James Cassidy. In the late 1970's I spent five years working in a Graphic Design studio in Dublin City. The influence of that discipline can be seen in some of my paintings. I enjoy experimenting with various painting styles and mediums also photography and lately, digital art.
